Creation In this unit the students will focus on exploring the wonders of creation and to grow in appreciation of the wonder of our Creator God. SACRAMENTS ARE SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS In this unit students will develop a greater understanding of celebrations. They will explore the different ways we celebrate God in our lives - through the world around us, through people and in unique way through the Sacraments of the Church, particularly Eucharist.
MULTIPLICATION & DIVISION GR 1 I can make groups of 2s, 5s and 10s. I can skip count the objects in a group by 2s, 5s or 10s in order to count the total of the collection. I can write the number sentence to match the groups, using the multiplication symbol. I can make an array. I can make an array to represent double facts up to 6 (12). I can write a number sentence to match the array, using the multiplication symbol. I can solve simple multiplication stories. I can share objects equally between a small group using trial and error (groups). I can recognise when there is a reminder after sharing into equal groups. I can write the number sentence to match the groups, using the division symbol. I can solve simple division stories.
GR 2 I can write the multiplication fact for repeated addition. I can use what I see in a partial array to work out the total. I can write the number fact to match the partial array. I can skip count to solve multiplication problems by 3’s. I can solve multiplication stories. I can solve division stories. I can make up a story to match a number sentence I can relate my doubles facts to ‘times as many’ stories.
How has our local history and technology changed over time? The children will explore, recognise and appreciate the history of our local area and the changing technology in our world.
